An extracurricular activity (ECA) or extra academic activity (EAA) or cultural activities is an activity, performed by students, that falls outside the realm of the normal curriculum of school, college or university education.
There has been a debate about Necessity vs Curiosity. While it is necessary to learn, it is also very important for the students to be curious about what they learn. Initially, the kids should be curious and happy to come to school, to get along with everyone and then to learn new things. Once they are curious, they will continue to learn without any reservation.
Extracurricular activities definitely help the students to get curious about school and education. Our AIM School is focused on both mental and physical activities for the extracurricular activities. Many choices are provided to students for them to choose. Here are some activities that we have now and more will be added to the list as we progress.
Competitions are held within and between our four house teams to encourage every child to participate and gain new talents. We send our students to various competitions at the district levels. We are happy to share the happy news that we have been winning many awards in various district level competitions every year. The pictures are archived in the Gallery section.
The different types of co-curricular activities in school are chosen to develop an overall personality of a student. Selection of the right kind of extracurricular activities at school can polish your child’s skills and keep him engaged.
Co-curricular activities help a student concentrate more in the classroom and teach them valuable life lessons. The importance of extracurricular activities at school has been proven by many types of research.
Children should engage in at least two co-curricular activities to utilize their energy completely and explore their talents. You should create a right mix of co-curricular activities that will stimulate a child’s mind and body both
Co-curricular activities are meant to bring social skills, intellectual skills, moral values, personality progress, and character appeal to students. It includes athletics, cultural events, Library activities, science lab activities, classroom activities, creative arts, meditation, etc.
A few examples of common educational opportunities that may be considered co-curricular include student newspapers, musical performances, art shows, mock trials, debate competitions, and mathematics, robotics, and engineering teams and contests.
